About Us
Lakeshore Foster Families and Friends is a 501(c)3 IRS-designated nonprofit organization supporting children in foster and kinship care and the families that provide for them by raising awareness and providing much-needed and deserved resources and support. Before our inception, there was an extreme gap in services for this selfless segment of our community. Caregivers were missing the essential support services they needed to answer their calling to care for our most vulnerable children.
The organization was founded in mid-2018 by long-time foster parents. They were inspired by the compelling need to improve the lives of the many children in foster/kinship care and families involved in the child welfare system. Identifying an opportunity to promote the well-being of children in our community, this organization sought to build the bridge. Our goal is to make sure every placement provider has the resources they need to give children a safe home. We hope to improve the experience of these kids in every way we can. Our role is to provide resources such as formal supports, school supplies, clothing, cleaning supplies, diapers, and many other unique resources to demonstrate the support of foster and kinship families.
